For over 40 years, MRC has been
working with local companies to meet business needs and to open up employment
opportunities for qualified job candidates with disabilities. More recently, MRC has also
begun providing training opportunities for individuals who are economically disadvantaged.
MRC has
helped more individuals with disabilities find competitive employment than any other
private agency in Minnesota.
Business
Advisory Councils--or BACs--have contributed greatly to MRC's success. BAC members from
150 companies help link MRC to a wide range of companies and industries. BAC companies
provide MRC with expertise, advice, job leads, and other resources.
The
Vocational Rehabilitation Services Branch of the Minnesota Department of Economic
Security, State Services for the Blind, and other rehabilitation organizations also make
essential contributions to MRC's success by providing referrals, financial support, and
suggestions for new services.
In
addition, MRC takes its services to various community sites including workplaces,
community education centers, Vocational Rehabilitation Services Branch offices, and
individuals' homes.
