MRC St. Cloud Course Descriptions

Tier I Training

Introduction to the Workplace is a 48-hour course that covers the basic skills required to succeed on the job. Consumers cover employment prep (workplace skills, life skills and study skills), introduction to the PC and Windows, keyboarding and 10-key, introduction to Microsoft Word and Access, and Internet basics.

Tier II Training

Office Careers Training is a 96-hour course that covers Microsoft Office from basic to intermediate level. Consumers will cover MS Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook along with customer service and effective communication, job seeking skills and general hands-on clerical training.

Tier III Training

Accounting Support Training is a 48-hour course that covers introduction to accounting basics, business math, advanced Excel and introduction to QuickBooks.

Healthcare Support Training is a 64-hour course that covers medical terminology and human anatomy, an overview of billing and coding, patient ethics and confidentiality.

One-to-One Computer Training is available for consumers who need specific training in one computer software or skills area or who learn better independently. One-to-One Computer Training is done both on and off site.

One-to-one Dialect Modification Training is designed for consumers who speak English as a Second Language and want to decrease their accents and increase their ability to be understood by others. Coursework includes pronouncing and enunciating words, forming words, and verbalizing effectively.
