MRC Twin Cities Evaluation & Planning Services

MRC Evaluation Services began in 1960 as the original service offered to individuals with disabilities. Evaluation services have expanded and changed since then, but continue to focus on consumer assessments to determine employment potentials.

Preliminary Evaluation Meeting (PEM) is a new step in the vocational evaluation process. The PEM is designed to incorporate the intake, tour of evaluation site and completion of pre-evaluation assignments prior to completion of the standard evaluation. This meeting will take place approximately two weeks prior to the evaluation at the future evaluation location.

Standard Evaluations identify appropriate career options for each consumer. Evaluators assess a consumer’s employment and training potential, transferable skills, and other vocational characteristics to identify the best employment options for that individual. Tools utilized include: psychometric testing, work samples, vocational exploration, interest testing, and transferable skills analysis.

CareerScope Assessment consists of 7 subtests, measures 6 different aptitudes that predict types of jobs best suited for a consumer. An interest inventory, finger and manual dexterity, working within a given timeline, and following detailed computer instructions are also included.

MRC vocational evaluators hold master-level degrees in Vocational Evaluation, many with a secondary focus in Rehabilitation Counseling.

Following the completion of vocational evaluations, a report is written that reflects and captures the assessment process of the individual being evaluated. The report will include consumer’s strengths, consumer’s limitations, and evaluator’s recommendations.
